Transformations Wellness has grown out of much heartache, pain and passion for a healthier way of life.

Vanessa (Ness), business owner, personal trainer, Pilates instructor, makeup artist, nutrition and wellness advocate, is more than qualified to operate a wellness studio such as this. She suffered a back injury in her teens, which unbeknown to her was quietly degenerating over the years and eventually lead to a chronic and disabling condition that left her unable to move without pain. Years of prescription pain medications and treatments eventually caused debilitating side effects and illness.

Before & Now September 15-2

“I literally got to the point where I didn’t have the energy to face the world, it was like I had lead flowing through my veins”

Adding insult to injury, Vanessa began to gain an excessive amount of weight, reaching over 100kg.

“I became a qualified personal trainer many years ago after having my babies, as I had lost my baby weight through movement and eating well and really enjoyed it. So I thought I knew how to get the excess weight off. Instead, I was just becoming more unwell and more overweight. It was so frustrating!”

Some time later, she was diagnosed with the Autoimmune condition Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and Fibromyalgia. Whilst this explained the symptoms (and these were temporarily treated) nothing seemed to address the root cause of the problem. Vanessa was doing everything that conventional medicine recommended, but her symptoms continued to flare.

Vanessa decided to take responsibility for her own wellness. She began to research all she could about her illnesses and how to effectively manage them. She learned to nourish her body in a way that would support her immune system and found ways to move that would allow her to strengthen and reshape her body without triggering her illnesses. Slowly but surely a transformation was occurring.

Vanessa now sees her illness as a blessing. It is through the hardship of pain and self-discovery that she has revealed her true passion – to assist others with injury, chronic illness & pain, and weight management concerns on their own wellness journeys.
